-
Developed a web authentication and administration system for a publisher
with many business-to-business sites. This system employed SQL Server 2000,
Windows 2000 Server, IIS5, ASP, VBScript, ADO, JavaScript, and DHTML.
An add-on component to IIS, AuthentiX, was used for authentication services
to bypass a need for NT user accounts. Project also involved porting
web sites and FTP access from an old Windows NT server to a new 2000 server.
-
Developed a dynamically maintainable web site for a non-profit organization.
The site also has features available only to its membership, e.g., access to its directory.
MS Access is used as the database backend.

Foxpro: from DOS to Visual
1992 to Present
-
A renowned manufacturer of cymbals needed a FoxPro programmer to assume responsibility for maintaining a host of database applications, including enhancements to an accounting system written in FoxPro. These programs assist many company functions, such as, order entry, electronic data interchange, shipping and management reporting.
-
A company that brokers electronic components has approximately 30 sales people
querying a FoxPro database of millions of records while talking to customers.
When this system goes down, the company is not earning money. In 1992 I converted
a small Paradox application to FoxPro for DOS.
When Visual FoxPro was released I rewrote the much larger application.
-
The publisher mentioned above (see Internet) has a FoxPro for Windows application
that helps track and manage book development, printing, sales projections, and
customer contacts. It also downloads accounting data for more integrated reporting.
-
The Department of Medicine in a large teaching hospital uses FoxPro for Windows
to track and communicate with over a 1000 staff and alumni; to do payroll
reporting; and schedule applicant interviews for its Internship program.

A local Century 21 franchise uses a FoxPro for Windows application to import real
estate data and facilitate marketing activities.
